In a world that seems to be going backwards, with fewer and fewer reference points, Marina talks about routine and practicing internal arts. She introduces us to Yoga touching its deep essence, to Meditation, revealing its secrets, to Do-In and its ancient practice, to Pranayama and its ability to balance our nervous system, to Visual Yoga, which leads us to pay attention to our precious eyes, and to interesting curiosities and viewpoints so that the chosen routine is easy, stimulating and regenerating. She gives us a key to open the door to surrender towards peace, turning our gaze inward, to then be able to express ourselves differently, from the space of stillness and inner strength. And so the world around us begins to change and fill with light.....
extract from: PRACTICE 3. MORNING PAGES
Morning pages will therefore be a first meditation: the meditation of the free mind. Over time, the repetition of this practice will take us beyond dispersion, towards a world of unthought solutions. Yes, because morning pages, like seated meditation, allow us to connect with our innermost part, discovering an inner contact with our creative source, obtaining elevated intuitions. Through meditation, we discover our identity, a source of internal power capable of transforming our external world.
Over time, with this practice of writing, emptying ourselves, we will get in touch with this inner power, awakening intuition and transforming ourselves into the true authors of our existence...
extract from: PRACTICE 4. MORNING MEDITATION
It's like the lack of desire to drink water when we're dehydrated. At first, you have to make an effort, for a certain time, for the stimulus to drink naturally to return. Just as water is essential for life, meditation is fundamental for your inner well-being. Meditation sessions are essential practices to cultivate mental peace. Trust these words for now and in time you will verify it for yourself.
At first, 10-15 minute sessions will be enough to get the body and mind used to this practice, and then you yourself will want to stay there longer. At first, it always seems like we have something more important to do than sit there, a little uncomfortable, trying to get rid of thoughts.
I invite you to see it differently. Thoughts are and will always be there. We are thinking beings, and that serves us for many things. What we must avoid is identifying with our thoughts.
extract from: PRACTICE 5. LET ENERGY FLOW WITH YOGA
Yoga is a lifestyle and a wonderful self-healing tool incredibly effective for improving flexibility, developing inner strength, and becoming aware of the body while being present, with the synchronization of postures with breathing.
Yoga, they say, is a bridge between the physical and the spiritual. And it is truly so when you practice in full consciousness, concentrated on your movement and your breathing; in acceptance of your limits, perceiving tensions and releasing them with breathing and deep humility.
All Yoga sequences lead to a deep perception of what is moving in the body through the movement of the Asana (posture).
Also, you should know that throughout our body run twelve energy lines connected to our internal organs and associated emotions, called meridians. When we practice yoga, in the execution of each posture we will be activating one or more meridians, helping the organs to function better and the associated emotions to release.
extract from: PRACTICE 8. THE BREATH OF EARTH, THE STRENGTH OF HEAVEN: QI GONG
Qi Gong is like a secret garden, unique to each individual. The plants that grow in it, their shapes and colors, are a reflection of the soul of who cultivates it. Each exercise is a seed that, planted in the fertile ground of our consciousness, germinates and flowers in a personal and intimate way.
Each body has its own stories to tell, its tensions to dissolve, its energies to release. By carefully listening to the sensations that manifest during practice, we can identify the areas that require more attention. Perhaps a painful knee invites us to slow down and focus on rooting, while a feeling of agitation drives us towards more calming and meditative exercises.
extract from: PRACTICE 13. WHEN EMOTIONS ARISE
You need to know that you are not your emotions. You are much, much more than them. Remember that!
When you start to perceive strong emotions, how can you face them in the best way?
How can we face the fear, despair, anger, and desire we feel?
Let me tell you about a good practice so that these emotions flow through you without stopping.
